07/03/2005 - I was expecting to see a finished roof when I got home. I didn't - the guys had forgotten that they needed to replace the tin where the chimney went (so finally I'll have a leak-proof roof there) and, they're a bit short on tin somewhere else (I lost interest since I was still thinking about not having a finished roof and how it'd cost me more coin to keep the blimmin tarp). The supplier is trying to get some more tin sorted for them and Amanda being the brilliant project amnager that she is, gave them a serving and they're hunting down one of their tarps to replace the one we hired - so I guess either Brian or I will be taking the big tarp back when the other one arrives.
08/03/2005 - Deck the deck with boards of radiata, fa la lah lah laaa... Nice, I got home to find Rob (no not me) and Noa hammering the decking into place, the laundry door and the bifolds from the dining room were in, but apparently the spaces for the windows are too small so the lads from Carters are having ANOTHER visit to sort out the pre-nail they did for us (to save time don't you know). I must say that tarps are friken heavy! (or I'm a puny wee man who's been behind a keyboard too long - actually, that's probably it) I lugged the 10x6m tarp to the truck and have just dropped an appointment into my diary for tomorrow to take the tarp back over lunch. I emailed Matt and Gerald about the wiring as we'll need to get into that end of the house with a buttload of cable before the walls go up and the cielings go in - not long until the end of the month and the builders leave us (and Kali) sad and alone...
