Day 111 -> Day 117
Waaaay hey hey! The weatherboards are piling on!

07/03/2005 - Today Brian, Noa and Rob (no not me) worked exclusively on getting the weatherboards on around the house - they go on so quick and make SUCH a difference!

08/03/2005 - Again, the weatherboards

09/03/2005 - The roofing guys turned up today we were expecting them tomorrow, but they were held up on the other site so they bounced to us - sweet! The roof is going on so quick, we're one tarp down and, while walking the dog and boys back down the hill I was able to take a moment to look at our cool new roof.
Brian and the guys worked on the weatherboards, getting the ply soffits up (racing around in front of the roofing guys) straightened the rafters and generally kept everything sweet so the roofers could plough on ahead. Brian also was good enough to drop off the small tarp on his way home.
Trev came around to drop off and demo the security cams which have a great image, the DVR that captures the footage is a proper security type model so it'll be interesting to see where we get to in tweaking that to suit a residential situation. The cameras also pass the WAF test which is very important, so I've got some points there too!

10/03/2005 - More weatherboards, worked on the roof valley and the soffits

11/03/2005 - The last of the main (long) runs of the weatherboards went up today and the fiddly bits were started - on the up side, it dawned on everyone that all the corners of this wee bungalow are boxed so that's saved a bit of time in trying to cut mitres that fit exactly right with each other.

12/03/2005 - A couple of the roofing guys came back at 08:00 today to finish off, but when they arrived they said that one of them had to bail at 11:00 (I'm assuming he's playing Rugby, or League actually looking at the size of the lad) so would have to come back on Monday to lay the ridge capping if they didn't get to it before then.
When I left the house at 09:30 they looked mostly done with the laying of the tin, and since I got back around 12pm I've no idea when they left, so given the capping hadn't been done, I'm assuming they decided they wouldn't be able to finish it in time. Max and I had gone out for a "Dad & Lad" breakfast, then onto the timber merchants to track down some chipboard for the ceiling walkways and hopefully some coversheets too.
It started getting blowy later in the afternoon so I was up the ladder and wandering around my sparkling new roof (sparkling in a new way, it's a dull grey so we're not speaking literally here okay?) tightening up some of the shroud lines on the tarp to stop them flapping.

06/03/2005 - I buggered my neck doing something yesterday so, apart from having a sore neck all night, I wasn't much use to anyone today either, we ended up flagging any attempt to do renovationy stuff (I was supposed to prime a few boards etc) and we went for a family drive out to Orewa for an ice-cream and a wander down the beach.
