Day 13 -> Day 19
The third week and things are coming together real quick...

31/01/2005 - Today we woke and, with trepidation, ventured out to the old kitchen to peer through the new bi-folds and down onto the landscape of posts and piles and bearers and other flooring building terms. It's big... it's bigger than it looked on the plans so I'll be most interested to see how it appears once we get the demolition materials out of the back yard and see what that looks like. Amanda set about restocking the cupboards after our time away and I got stuck into the gardens out the front as well as sorting and condensing the multiple piles of demolition material that we have accumulated over the past 76 days (has it really been that long?!)

01/02/2005 - Brian & Noa managed to get all the floor joists in place today which really helped clarify the size of the construction, it's looking better and I had a bit of fun walking around on the beams when Amanda got home going into the 'kitchen' and the laundry then out to the 'deck'. Very excited and looking forward to it getting closed in. On that note, Brian thinks he will be ready for walls this week but as they're unlikely to be ready at the factory, we've got a bit more tim to organise things like the flooring timber and the tarpaulin for the roof. Hirepool want $50/day for a 9x5 meter tarp, whereas 'Davies Hire' will do a 9x6 tarp for like $80/week. The other suggestion is to get 'one of the grey ones' from the Warehouse so, we'll have to see which way turns out to be best.
First day of work and school for us (yesterday being anniversary weekend) and the only job we had assigned was to clear out some firewood that was under the house, right under where Brian needs to drop in another post to be in-line with the framing of the bi-fold doors.
Gerald dropped off the Certificate of Compliance this evening but left before we got around to running the cables for the entrance camera. He's potentially going to be accepting an offer to work for a large electrical firm which sounds like a good deal for him, so we'll be back to evening jobs once that comes to fruition.
