August 2004 - Again, I'm guilty of not updating this section for waaay too long but now we have the final version of the plans, the council has accepted the construction project and it's time to bring you up to speed.

Rob got married at the end of January of this year and his wife Amanda and her two awesome wee boys Max and Hadley moved up from Blenheim to Auckland.

Amanda and Rob spent the first half of the year with the Architect going through numerous iterations of the floor plan, and elevations until we came up with this:

Now - I do have a higher res. image avalible but it's like 300-odd KB so I'm not posting it here (yet).

The Elevations probably show the changes best, basically the parts of each image which are detailed are the new pieces which will be added to the house.

South Elevation - For those who know our place, you'll notice that the major change here is the removal of the existing front door and the addition of a porch with a brand spanking new door which will open directly into the hallway.

East Elevation - You can see some detail on the porch here and also the extension out the back with our new (covered) deck - roll-on the BBQ season (which is moot as, being a covered deck we'll be able to BBQ for you at any time :)

North Elevation - This is the view from the back of the house, the covered deck comes off the lounge on the left hand side of the picture. The bi-fold windows in the middle come off the dining/living area and to the far right, out the back of the house is the steps to the laundry

West Elevation - The much overlooked 'far side' of the house, not much of interest here unless you're our neighbours but does show the back steps coming down from the laundry and the front porch. The garage is missing from these pictures, but it's pretty damn lose to the porch I tell ya!
